1916 - Words & Music by Clarence Williams Clarence Williams and Armand Piron started a small publishing company around 1915 in New Orleans. Williams later moved to Chicago and then to New York where he was very important in the early record business as a musician, publisher, writer and A&R man. Piron stayed in New Orleans though did come to New York in the 1923 where he recorded 8 tunes including one written by Fletcher Henderson. |
